Some Key Notes on the Victory of the Palestinian Resistance Movement and the Imposition of a Ceasefire on the Zionist Occupying Forces

A statement of the Party of Labour of Iran (Toufan)

Finally, with the start of the ceasefire and the temporary end of the war, the distinction between friend and enemy has become clearer than ever. What has happened has already been said. Supporters of Palestine, over the course of 15 months, stood alongside the people of Gaza, raising the flag of human dignity and solidarity. In return, Israel’s agents, both on the sidelines and in the virtual and real world, endorsed the massacre of the people of Gaza under the name “the backward movement of political Islam and terrorism” and poured scorn on the protest movement against genocide! We must not let these mercenaries rest! The mass marches of hundreds of thousands of people in Gaza, encircling the armed fighters of the Palestinian resistance movement, raising national flags, and celebrating in the ruined streets are the cries of a nation that will not surrender to oppression, force, and the devastating bombings of the Zionists.

The Palestinian people are determined to sacrifice their lives for the freedom of their homeland and to get rid of the invading enemies. The imposition of a ceasefire on the bloodthirsty Zionist enemy is a victory for the Palestinian people, and they will continue their struggle to settle the accounts and crush the Zionist colonizers. The ceasefire is the defeat of the invading forces and a victory for the Palestinian liberation movement.

First, on October 7th, Palestinians, with the Al-Aqsa Storm operation, shattered Israel’s security structure. This operation was not only a military achievement but also a psychological blow to a regime that had always presented itself as invincible. Breaking through security walls, infiltrating areas thought to be inaccessible, and the inefficacy of Israel’s advanced technologies showed that no shield can withstand the will and precise planning of the resistance. This day marked the beginning of a historic shift—one that exposed Israel’s vulnerability and ended the myth of its invincibility.

The Palestinian resistance organization Hamas has succeeded in shaking the foundations of Zionism for the first time in the 75-year history of the artificial state of Israel. The supremacy that had been built up over the years, under titles such as "the fourth largest army in the world", "the leading army in West Asia" and "the regional information and security superpower", was completely devalued and made unbelievable in one fell swoop. The insecurity in all occupied territories and the flight of over 700,000 Zionist settlers was a devastating blow to the continued Judaization of the Palestinian land.

Second, in the political and administrative sphere, victory and defeat are defined by the realization of goals and plans. The Hamas organization and the entire Palestinian resistance movement rose up with the aim of liberating Palestine, breaking the blockade of Gaza and reminding the world of the historical rights of the Palestinians and the wounds of the occupation. They showed the world that even with minimal means of defence and in dark tunnels, resistance against imperialist and Zionist powers armed to the teeth is possible.

The aggressive state of Israel, on the other hand, despite all its claims to destroy the resistance, recovering hostages and consolidate its authority, has not only failed to achieve its goals but has also revealed its ugly and inhumane face through genocide and violation of human rights, mobilizing global public opinion against it. The world has witnessed how the resistance organization Hamas, which Israel has repeatedly ridiculed and labeled as a terrorist that no longer poses a serious threat and is completely under the control of the Israeli army, has been able to degrade this supposed military-security power structure. Israel has no longer has credibility in this area, and even the reactionary rulers of Arab states will recognize that Israel is far from what it claims to be.

Third, the acceptance of a ceasefire by Israel was nothing less than an admission of defeat. A regime that had entered the conflict with all its might had to finally capitulate and lay down its arms in the face of the Palestinian resistance movement, global pressure and global outrage. This ceasefire meant more than just the end of the fighting; it symbolized the moral and political collapse of Israel before the eyes of the world.

The crimes of this regime – from the killing of civilians to the destruction of homes and infrastructure – have sparked a wave of global protests. Demonstrations have taken place in the streets of Europe and America accusing the Zionist regime of human rights violations. The acceptance of the ceasefire marked the point at which it became clear that Israel is isolated not only on the battlefield but also in global public opinion.

Fourth, the “October 7” operation was a struggle for existence against annihilation. It was a heroic defence against a vicious and fascist aggression that targeted not only the land but also identity, history and human dignity for Palestinian nation. The philosophy of this struggle stems from the natural right of every living being to defend its own life. This war is part of a historical puzzle, the full meaning of which will become apparent over time through the changing fate of the Palestinian people.

The “ceasefire”, apart from being a humanitarian and human necessity, is in practice a complete defeat of Israel. A defeat the likes of which has not been experienced or even imagined in the past 75 years of its existence. This defeat will have long-term and irreversible consequences for Israel – both internally, regionally and internationally.

Fifth, one of the unjust accusations that is repeatedly levelled against the Hamas organization and its allies such as the Islamic Jihad, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine and the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine is the focus on human and material losses as evidence of defeat. But such a view is superficial and incomplete. While losses are a direct and inevitable aspect of wars, a correct analysis requires the assessment of achievements and long-term impacts.

Moreover, the resistance of Hamas to aggression cannot be measured by material standards. Just as the killing of millions of Vietnamese, the destruction of hundreds of thousands of hectares of land and the burning of large parts of forests, grasslands and infrastructure in Vietnam was not defined as a victory for the U.S. imperialism, but as a historic defeat that has entered the collective memory of humanity.

The Palestinian fighters fought not for personal gains, but for national liberation, freedom and human dignity. They embraced death as a bridge to immortality and breathed new life into the spirit of resistance.

Sixth, the Palestinian resistance movement was faced with two choices: a slow and creeping death in the shadow of global silence or a combative death in front of the world. It chose the latter. This bloody and resonant outcry revealed to the world the wounds and pain of the Palestinian people and shook a large section of the population awake and open its eyes to the brainwashing of the unscrupulous propaganda of imperialist media.

One of the most important consequences of this war was the shift in global public opinion. Israel, which had always portrayed itself as a victim, was this time exposed as an aggressive occupier, child murderer and war criminal. The images of the massacres of civilians and the destruction of infrastructure sparked a wave of global outrage. Protests in over 30,000 cities worldwide, which are still ongoing, have shown that Israel's crimes can no longer be hidden behind the curtain of media propaganda. This shift in discourse has shaken the foundation of Israel's legitimacy in international circles and given Palestine an unprecedented opportunity to make its voice heard worldwide.

The Israeli defeat is a strategic defeat and cannot be reversed. It means that, in addition to the collapse of its fabricated power, if Israel continues the war after a six-week ceasefire, it will lead to a protracted conflict, with even deeper economic and psychological implicationss. Added to this is the increasing pressure from peace-loving peoples around the world against Israel. Therefore, Israel's defeat is inevitable, and it will be forced to continue the ceasefire and withdraw completely from Gaza.

The struggle of the Palestinian people, which has been marked by ups and downs, will continue even after the ceasefire ends. The Palestinian organizations and parties will push their movement forward in the new global and regional situation more united, confident and determined than ever before to completely liberate their homeland from the clutches of the Zionist occupiers.

Long live the struggle of the Palestinian people for national liberation!

Down with Zionism!
